A mother of one of 20 prospective National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, members abducted while travelling to their orientation camps has appealed to the Federal Government to intensify efforts to rescue the victims alive.

Janet Oladosu said her son, Greatness, and the other prospective corps members were abducted near Umunoha in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State while travelling from Ibadan to orientation camps in the South-East and South-South.

She said her son had kept her informed throughout the journey until he suddenly sent a message through another phone saying they had been kidnapped.

Oladosu urged the Federal Government, Oyo and Imo State governments and security agencies to make the rescue of the victims a priority.

The incident has also renewed calls for a review of the NYSC deployment policy.
