The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has fined RwandAir N15 million for violating consumer protection regulations.
The NCAA spokesperson, Michael Achimugu, said the airline was sanctioned for failing to resolve a passenger’s baggage complaint within the stipulated timeframe.
The authority also directed RwandAir to replace the passenger’s damaged baggage and pay 170 dollars as first-need compensation.
The NCAA said the compensation was in line with Part 19 of the NCAA Regulations 2023, which provides remedies for passengers affected by baggage-related issues.
The authority warned that airlines operating in Nigeria must resolve passenger complaints within the prescribed period or face sanctions.
