A prolonged traffic gridlock has disrupted vehicular and human movement along the Ugbowo axis of Benin City, leaving motorists stranded and forcing some commuters to trek to their destinations.

The gridlock, which started in the early hours of Tuesday, stretched from Tomline Junction to Uwasota by noon, with vehicles trapped in long queues and movement severely restricted.
