Former Chief of Army Staff, Retired Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, has said the $1bn approved for defence procurement during his tenure as Army Chief was released to the Ministry of Defence.

General Buratai disclosed that the funds approved by the National Economic Council did not pass through his hands or the accounts of any of the Military Services.

Defence Correspondent John Terna Reports that the Ex-Army Chief Stated this at an event organised by the Defence Correspondents In Abuja.
