Now talking Sports, Kylian Mbappe scored his fiftieth international goal as France beat Nations League hosts, Germany, two-nil in their third-place play-off.
Mbappe finished well for the forty-fifth minute opener following a pass from Real Madrid team-mate Aurelien Tchouameni.
The France captain then set up the second goal six minutes from time when he pounced on a mistake from Robin Koch and squared the ball for Michael Olise to slot into the empty net.
Germany had their chances, though, with both a penalty and a goal overturned by the video assistant referee (VAR).
Julian Nagelsmann’s Germany have now failed to win in three games, including Wednesday’s semi-final defeat by Portugal.
Both sides will now shift their attention towards securing a place at the 2026 World Cup, with Germany next in qualification action on September 4th against Slovakia and France facing Ukraine a day later.
