The Police Service Commission has ratified the dismissal of Assistant Superintendent of Police, Nuhu Usman, and four other officers over their alleged involvement in the killing of 28-year-old Mene Ogidi in Effurun, Delta State.

A statement by Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Placid, said the decision followed the conclusion of internal disciplinary proceedings and takes immediate effect.

He noted that the case file has been forwarded to the Attorney General of the Federation for vetting and prosecution.

Placid stressed that no suspicion, regardless of its severity, justifies extrajudicial action, adding that every suspect is entitled to due process.

He also confirmed that some suspects linked to the incident, including a driver and two vigilante members, remain at large.

The Police maintained that the Force does not shield officers who violate the law and assured the public that justice will be served.
