As Nigerians celebrate 25 years of democratic governance, Edo State Deputy Governor, Engineer Godwins Marvellous Omobayo, has described Edo State as a role-model in the comity of states in Nigeria, under the visionary and purposeful leadership of Governor Godwin Obaseki.

In his message in commemoration of the 2024 Democracy Day, the Deputy Governor said Edo State has witnessed unprecedented development in critical sectors of the state’s economy, thereby, spreading the dividends of democracy to the people, asserting that Governor Obaseki is a pacesetter, who means well for the people.

He said states like Lagos, Delta and others, have at one time or the other, visited Edo State to understudy its template of progressive governance, as instituted by the Obaseki-led administration.

Engineer Omobayo says, the political trajectory of Nigeria in her 25 years journey of unbroken democracy since 1999, has recorded a paradigm shift from party manifestos to individual competency, capacity and charisma in the political space, particularly in recent times.

The number two citizen enjoined Edo State people to be wise in their choice of Governor Obaseki’s successor.

He posited that the gains recorded for the past seven and half years must not be allowed to recede, while affirming that continuity and consolidation were germane to Making Edo Great Again.
