The Governing Council, Management, staff and students of the Edo State College of Education, Igueben, have received with profound sorrow, the news of the passing of the Provost of the College, Dr Victoria Okojie.

A statement by the Head, Public Relations/Protocol Unit and Public Relations Officer, Ijenekhuemen Osedebamen Daniel for the college says Doctor Okojie’s death is a great loss to the College, Edo State and the wider educational community.

It said during her tenure, she demonstrated exemplary dedication to the advancement of the institution, the promotion of academic excellence, staff welfare and the development and well-being of students.

Beyond her role as Provost, Dr Okojie was a mother, mentor and source of inspiration to many within and beyond the College.

It said her warmth, humility, leadership and unwavering commitment to duty endeared her to colleagues, students and other members of the College community stressing that her passing has brought immense grief to the institution and left a profound void in the hearts of those she touched.

The Governing Council, Management, staff and students of the College extended their deepest condolences to her family, loved ones and all those affected by this painful loss and prayed God grants Dr Victoria Okojie eternal rest.
