Nigeria international Alex Iwobi has drawn level with Mohamed Salah as the joint-second most capped African player in Premier League history.
Iwobi reached the landmark during Fulham’s one-nil win over Coventry City on Saturday.
It was Iwobi’s three hundred and twenty-eighth Premier League appearance, the same tally as former Liverpool forward Salah. Only former Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool defender Kolo Toure, with three hundred and fifty-three appearances, is ahead of them on the all-time African list.
His three hundred and twenty-eight appearances are made up of one hundred for Arsenal, one hundred and twenty-three for Everton and one hundred and four for Fulham, making him Nigeria’s leading Premier League appearance-maker ahead of Shola Ameobi’s two hundred and ninety-eight.
He can move clear of Salah into outright second place when Fulham travel to Aston Villa in their next Premier League fixture.
