Nigeria’s Super Falcons have taken a commanding step towards the next round of the 2028 Olympic Games qualifiers following a 2-0 victory over Comoros in the first leg of their second-round encounter.
The match, played at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State, saw both teams settle for a goalless first half.
However, the Super Falcons broke the deadlock just two minutes into the second half, as Michelle Alozie scored from close range in the 47th minute.
Uchenna Kanu then doubled Nigeria’s advantage in the 60th minute with a well-placed header to seal a comfortable two-nil victory for Nigeria.
The Super Falcons will now look to consolidate their advantage when both teams meet again in the return leg at the same venue on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
Nigeria will be aiming to secure qualification for the next round as they continue their quest for a place at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, United States.
