Elders and indigenes of Iguzama community in Ovia North East local government area, Edo State have called on the public to be wary of persons parading themselves as Head, also known as Odionwere of the Iguzama community.

In a statement by the second in command also known as ozakpogieva, Pa Joseph Idugboe, Third In Command, Ozukpogieha Pa Festus Ileruwa, Pa John Asemota, Igbinevbo Aibangbee says Iguzama community is yet to install an odionwere since the death of the former odionwere, Pa Peter Ekuase in April, 2025.

The statement says in line with the Benin customs and tradition, a new Odionwere can only be installed after three years within which the burial rites of the departed odionwere would have been completed.

It advised any group of persons, organisations and others not to transact any land or any other business concerning Iguzama community not to deal with anybody claiming to be Odionwere but deal only with the elders of the community as nobody has been installed as odionwere.

It advised whoever is parading himself as odionwere of Iguzama community to desist from doing so or will be made to face the full wrath of the law.
