Tension continues to grip residents of Benin City following the death of a man named Derrick, popularly known as “Denco,” who was killed by a group of armed robbers at Igun Market. The robbers made away with his gold jewelry during the attack.
Our crime correspondent, Jolaade Ojo, who spoke to residents, reports that the suspects—believed to be operating in a Lexus 300—are notorious for targeting gold accessories.
They are suspected to be behind similar incidents across Benin City and its environs.
