There was a fire outbreak at Ogheghe Junction along Sapele Road on Saturday night, following an accident involving a tanker loaded with petrol.
According to eyewitnesses, the tanker reportedly lost control and overturned, spilling its contents on the road. The spilled fuel quickly ignited, resulting in a fire that caused panic among residents and motorists in the area.
Firefighters and emergency response teams were promptly mobilized to the scene and were able to contain the blaze before it spread to nearby properties.
As at the time of this report, no casualties have been recorded.
However, traffic along the busy Sapele Road was temporarily diverted as efforts continued to clear the wreckage and ensure safety.
Motorists plying Sapele Road took alternative routes.
