The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, has extended heartfelt sympathies to the management and staff of Independent Television and Radio (ITV/Radio) following a tragic fire that severely damaged the administrative building at Iguosa/Oluku on Friday, August 22, 2025.

In a statement signed by the union’s chairman, Comrade Festus Alenkhe, alongside other executive members, the incident was described as unfortunate, saddening, and shocking—especially given ITV/Radio’s ongoing vital role in informing, educating, and entertaining the public.

Thanking God that no lives were lost during the incident, the NUJ leadership prayed for strength and resilience for the station’s management and staff as they work to recover from this setback.

The council further encouraged the ITV/Radio team not to be discouraged but to remain steadfast and committed to their invaluable service to society.
