Elders of Erua Community in Uhunwonde Local Government Area have kicked against moves by the Odionwere to unilaterally remove the Okhaighele, despite an earlier agreement by the council of elders approving a four-year tenure prior to his installation.

The elders, led by the second-in-command, say their position is aimed at preventing any form of crisis in the community.

They also describe the incumbent Okhaighele, Ayo Omoregbe, as a law-abiding indigene who does not promote conflict and operates strictly within the traditional hierarchy as recognized by the palace.
