Education has been described as a powerful and strategic instrument capable of reducing poverty and driving sustainable development in developing and underdeveloped nations of the world.

This view was expressed by the Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction and Guest Speaker, Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu, at the 23rd Convocation Ceremony of Nigeria’s premier private university, Igbinedion University, Okada, held on Friday at the University Library Hall.

Donald Ehimiyein reports that the Chancellor of Igbinedion University, Sir Chief Dr. Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, was represented at the ceremony by the Deputy Chancellor and former Governor of Edo State, Chief Dr. Lucky Nosakhare Igbinedion.
