Residents of Eko Abetu, Evboneka and Iyowa axis have renewed calls on the Edo State Government and security agencies to intensify security in the area, following the kidnap of nine members of the same family on Second February, 2026.

The victims, including a nursing mother, her baby, and seven other children and adults, were allegedly attacked along Eko Abetu–Iyowa Road, off the Benin–Akure Expressway, in Ovia North-East Local Government Area, Edo State.
