In a major political development, former Kano State Governor and 2023 presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has announced his resignation from the New Nigeria People’s Party, the NNPP, effective immediately.

In a statement released today, Senator Kwankwaso expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve as the party’s National Leader and its presidential candidate during last year’s general elections. He described the decision to leave the party as difficult but necessary, citing the current political landscape as requiring strategic realignment.

Senator Kwankwaso stated that he intends to join another political platform that he believes will offer the best opportunity to effect meaningful change in the country.

This resignation marks a significant moment in Nigeria’s political scene as the former governor prepares for his next political steps.
