There is a growing need to protect Nigerian consumers from exploitation by service providers and unfair market practices, as they continue to bear the burden of weak enforcement and limited access to justice.

This was brought to the fore during the 361st Inaugural Lecture Series of the University of Benin, delivered by Professor Job Odion on Thursday, where the challenges confronting consumers and the role of the law in safeguarding their rights were critically examined.
