President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Professor Idia Ize-Iyamu as the substantive Chief Medical Director of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital.
The appointment was announced by the federal government on Friday.
The Professor of Orthodontics will succeed Professor Darlington Obaseki, whose tenure comes to an end on Seventeenth August, 2024.
Until her appointment, Professor Idia Ize-Iyamu is the current Dean, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Benin.
She is a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons.
She also attended Oxford University, United Kingdom on a Commonwealth Medical Fellowship in 2016.
Professor Idia Ize-Iyamu had also worked with the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, 1992-1993.
