The former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, Chief Dan Orbih, and others have been expelled from the People’s Democratic Party.

The FCT Minister was expelled following a motion moved by the party’s elder statesman, Chief Olabode George, who cited sections of the party’s constitution at the National Convention currently holding in Oyo State.

The National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Umar Damagum, said the party’s National Convention in Ibadan will finally put to rest all lingering crises within the party.

Damagum made this known while addressing delegates at the convention in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Saturday.

The convention, which was attended by governors from Adamawa, Bauchi, Zamfara, Plateau, and other states, also witnessed a large turnout of party faithful and delegates.

Delegates voted for their preferred candidates during the PDP National convention.

Governors and delegates expressed confidence that, despite all challenges, the party will remain united and continue to move forward as one.

The FCT Minister and former Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike is yet to react to his expulsion from the PDP.
