Umar Damagum, acting national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, has condemned the action of the Federal Capital Territory Administration for sealing the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
FCTA on Monday sealed the PDP secretariat due to an alleged failure to pay ground rent.
Shortly after the development, the PDP’s national caucus convened an emergency meeting at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro.
Damagum described the action of the FCTA as “the highest irresponsibility” from the government.
He added that the party would not tolerate such actions, which he believes are aimed at undermining democracy.
