Ossiomo Investments Limited has raised alarm over a potential disaster after suspected saboteurs allegedly tampered with a high-pressure gas valve at its Ologbo plant in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area on September 26, defying a court order.

In a statement, the company’s legal consultant, Barrister Emmanuel Usoh, described the act as criminal, reckless, and a serious threat to lives and property in surrounding communities.

He linked the sabotage to Jiangsu Communication Clean Energy Technology Company CCETC, with whom Ossiomo is in dispute over operational control, citing the unlawful opening of the gas valve at the Quadrant gas infrastructure within the Ossiomo plant.

Barrister Usoh said security agencies and the courts are currently handling the matter, and Ossiomo urges stakeholders to allow due process to take its course.

Ossiomo, a major supplier of gas and electricity in Edo State, said the sabotage threatens efforts to reduce the state’s reliance on the national grid as well as ongoing industrial growth.

The company emphasized the serious safety risks involved and outlined its ongoing arbitration with CCETC at the Singapore International Arbitration Centre over shareholding claims.

Ossiomo Investments Limited has secured a court injunction restraining CCETC from accessing its land or facilities.
