The Edo State Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, fdc, has visited Okpella in Etsako East Local Government Area for an on-the-spot assessment of the crime scene where eight personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were killed and a Chinese national abducted.

While commiserating with the Edo State Command of the NSCDC over the tragic loss of its gallant officers, the Commissioner condemned the attack, describing it as a heinous crime that will not go unpunished. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to working in synergy with other security agencies to ensure the perpetrators are swiftly brought to justice.

During a visit to the Chinese community at BUA Cement, Okpella, the Commissioner assured that intensified operational efforts are underway to secure the safe rescue of the abducted expatriate. He also noted that security deployments in the area are being reinforced to prevent a recurrence of such attacks.

The Commissioner called for calm and urged residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information to aid ongoing operations.
