Elders and natives of Ogbeson Community in Ovia North East local government area, Edo State have frowned over a misrepresentation of facts by the Leadership of Iguoshodin N’ Ebudin where they tried to misinform the public that a letter from the Secretary to the Benin Traditional Council, Frank Irabor, says they are a quarter under them and not a community.

The leadership and the people of Ogbeson described the news statement as not only laughable but an attempt to push a narrative that does not exist.

In a statement signed by their legal adviser, E.Oghahenhen Esquire, says for the benefit of doubt the same Secretary, Benin Traditional Council in a letter given to Ogbeson August 10th, 2021 addressed to Ovia North East local government told the council that it is not a quarter but a community.

They also reminded their neighbouring community that sometime in 1977, the monarch ascertained that Ogbeson as a community while settling the boundary dispute between Iyekeze and one other.

The Ogbeson Community people are now wondering how Iguoshodin arrived at the issue of quarter status they are now parading and however advised their leadership to use their time for better things instead of the misleading approach all in a bid to cajole suspected land buyers as that remain their stock in trade.

They however called on the public to disregard the news statement as it does not reflect the true position as the elders of Ogbeson were at no time invited by the Secretary, Benin Tradition Council before any decision was reached.
