The elders and natives of Ogbeson Community in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State wish to draw public attention to a broadcast aired on electronic media on August 23, 2025. The broadcast featured the counsel representing Iguoshodin Community, who incorrectly claimed that there exists a police report in which the elders of Ogbeson Community acknowledged that Ogbeson is a quarter of Iguoshodin Community.
A counter-statement, signed by E. Oghahenhen, counsel to Ogbeson Community, categorically denies this claim. The statement asserts that the earlier broadcast by Iguoshodin Community is false and misleading. There is no resolution from the Oba’s Palace or any other authority recognizing Ogbeson as a quarter of Iguoshodin Community. This misinformation appears to be a deliberate attempt to mislead the general public.
The counsel to Ogbeson Community also clarified that no police report exists supporting the assertion that Ogbeson is under Iguoshodin Community in any capacity. Furthermore, there is no official resolution, formal agreement, or record from the Palace affirming such a relationship.
The statement urges the general public to disregard the broadcast made by the solicitor of Iguoshodin Community regarding the status and independence of Ogbeson Community.
