The Ogbakha-Edo Indigenous People’s Welfare Foundation has joined the family of former Inspector General of Police and Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Dr. Solomon Ehigiator Arase, people of Edo State, and indeed the entire Nigerian nation in mourning the passing of the great son of the Land who peacefully transited on Sunday, August 31, 2025, in Abuja.
A condolence message personally signed by the Chairman of the Foundation, Professor Sam Guobadia, says the departure of the illustrious son of the Benin Kingdom is an irreparable loss, adding that Dr. Arase was not merely a consummate professional but a man of rare integrity, a visionary leader, and loving father whose wisdom, humility, and patriotism touched lives across all strata of society.
The Ogbakha-Edo Indigenous People’s Welfare Foundation in their condolence message notes that to the Benin Kingdom, he was a beacon of honor, an arrowhead of sociocultural renaissance who constantly projected the values of dignity, discipline, and service.
The Foundation observes that to Nigeria, he was a chief crime fighter, reformer, and security strategist whose ingenuity and courage helped to strengthen law enforcement institutions, restore public trust, and advance the cause of national security.
The Foundation says his legacy of dedication to peace and justice will remain indelible in the annals of our history while in this period of grief, they urge his family and loved ones to take solace in the fact that Solomon Arase lived a life not just well spent, but legendary, that future generations will continue to draw inspiration from.
The Ogbakha-Edo Indigenous People’s Welfare Foundation prayed that his noble soul finds eternal rest among the saints, and the Almighty God grant his family the fortitude to bear this monumental loss.
