The Odionwere and elders in council of Aihuobabekun Community in Ovia North East Local Government Area, Edo State have dissolved the Youth committee earlier set up by the Odionwere to attend to matters affecting the daily administration of the community.
The dissolution was made known in a communiqué issued at the end of a meeting of the Aihuobabekun Reconciliation Committee headed by Solomon Odiase Esquire.
Other resolutions reached by the Reconciliation are that the Odionwere is the head of the village and shall in consultation with the Elders in council take necessary administrative decision as the situation warrants.
That anyone or group parading himself or themselves as Okaighele of Aihuobabekun Village are warned to desist from parading themselves as such as there is no Okaighele in Aihuobabekun village and no one should parade himself as one.
According to the Communique, all meetings held at the Community Hall are banned as such meetings are illegal and unauthorized by the Odionwere and Elders-in-council.
That all transactions relating to land acquisition are banned henceforth and all transactions relating to land acquisition shall be subject to a verification exercise by a Committee to be set up by the Odionwere and Elders in Council in due course.
It concluded by saying that all written petitions and oral complaints from members of the village against each other pending before the Nigeria Police Force or other Security Agencies at whatever level be withdrawn forthwith and brought before the Reconciliation Committee for a peaceful resolution.
