In a bid to restructure the community and restore sanity, the Odionwere of Obazuwa in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State, Pa Roland Aimuamwonsa Oyenwense, has dissolved the Okhaighele, Odaro Peace Ibizugbe, and all members of his cabinet.
In a communiqué issued shortly after an emergency meeting held in his compound, and read to journalists by Julius Aimuamwonsa, it was stated that the dissolution became necessary because the Okhaighele and his cabinet were carrying out duties without the consent or approval of the Odionwere.
The Odionwere noted that several activities undertaken by the Okhaighele and his cabinet such as the sale of community land, the creation of unnecessary and illegal boundaries, including those reserved for the palace—were never approved by him, actions he strongly condemned.
He stressed that Obazuwa is a peace-loving community and would not allow its name to be dragged into disrepute. According to him, the prompt intervention was aimed at preventing the unhealthy situation from escalating and portraying the community in a negative light, hence the dissolution of the cabinet.
The Odionwere further announced that this public statement serves as a formal notice to the general public not to engage in any form of transaction with the dissolved executive.
