Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, has congratulated Nigerians on the nation’s 65th Independence anniversary, describing it as not just a time to celebrate freedom but also a call to collective responsibility.

In his message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Friday Aghedo, he said the anniversary should remind citizens of the courage and sacrifices of Nigeria’s founding fathers, while also inspiring renewed commitment to building a stronger, more united nation. He acknowledged the resilience, creativity, and determination of Nigerians in the face of challenges, stressing the need to channel these qualities towards peace, justice, and national progress.

The Deputy Governor commended Edo people for their continued support for Governor Monday Okpebholo’s vision of inclusive development and assured them of the administration’s resolve to pursue people-oriented policies that improve lives. He further urged Nigerians to use the independence celebration as a moment of reflection, prayer, and rededication to patriotism, integrity, and service to humanity, while praying for God’s blessings upon the nation.
