Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has hinged the timely completion of the 51 kilometer Araromi Seaside/Akodo-Lekki Road on the cooperation of youths in the Southern Senatorial District of the State.
The governor made the remark at the flag-off of the road construction held at Araromi in Ilaje Local Government Area of the state.
Governor Akeredolu who emphasised that the flag-off is historical, assured the people that the project would not suffer same fate like others hurriedly conceived to achieve parochial political ends.
He said the road will bring tremendous benefits to the people of the area, as well as link other Niger Delta States,calling on the youths to give the contractors the necessary support for timely completion of the project.
Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, assured that the project will not be abandoned.
Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, OSOPADEC, Barr. Olugbenga Edema, commended Akeredolu for opening up the road to facilitate the economic development of the Southern Senatorial District.
The Memorandum of Understanding between the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the Ondo State government for the construction of the Araromi-Seaside/Akodo-Lekki Road was signed in April 2017.
