Edo procures 45 patrol vehicles to boost security

As part of measures to address security challenges, Edo State Government has procured additional forty-five patrol vehicles to aid adequate policing of all parts of the state

The state governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole disclosed this when he granted audience to the State Chapter of the Nigeria Bar Association in Government House.

Welcoming the delegation to Government House, Comrade Oshiomhole who described security as a pre-condition for development, said even though it is a preserve of the federal government, Edo State will continue to provide necessary logistics to aid adequate policing of the state.

Comrade Oshiomhole who recalled the establishment of the Joint Patrol Team, code named “Operation Thunderstorm” said the additional forty-five patrol vehicles will further boost the activities of the outfit and other security operatives in the state.

Earlier, State Chairman, Nigeria Bar Association, Rasaq Isenalume who commended the state governor for the vision to transform the state, said the Association was in Government House to intimate the governor of the forthcoming law week.

The Association appealed to the state governor to address insecurity, particularly kidnapping.

In another engagement, Association of Resident Doctors, Edo State Chapter has commended the state government for on-going building of a five-star hospital in Benin

The Association led by Doctor Victor Ohenhen enumerated challenges confronting them to include shortage of man-power and mass exodus of workers from public health sector.

Responding, Comrade Oshiomhole expressed absolute commitment to accessible and affordable health services and pledge to address challenges confronting the Association.
