Anti-Open Grazing Bill Suffers Another Setback As EDHA Confirms Another Commissioner Designate

The bill for a law to prohibit open grazing of cattle and regulate other livestock in Edo State today suffered another major setback as lawmakers disagreed over clause Five subsection seven of the bill.

The contentious clause five subsection seven states that a ranch committee to be constituted by the state government would be empowered to determine the size of land suitable for ranching across the state.

Kingsley Uchegbu reports that an additional Commissioner nominee sent for confirmation by Governor, Godwin Obaseki was cleared by the Lawmakers during the plenary session.
