The Governor of Edo State Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has disclosed that his administration is partnering with an Edo-based international firm, Rongtai Wood Company, to grow one million trees a year for the next ten years.
He made this known during a tour of facilities at the company in Utesi, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State.
The Governor of Edo State Mr. Godwin Obaseki said Government has deeply considered how to source for raw materials for their finished products.
He said Government has also carried out extensive research and thereafter engaged one of the best professionals in Wood Cultivation and Forest Management from China.
Gov.Obaseki said the Firm has established some Facilities, including laboratories.
He said they have also generated high breed Seeds through the Research which will enable them cultivate different species of wood designed to suit the Domestic Environment in Edo State.
He disclosed that the focus of his administration is to create the enabling environment for businesses and investors to thrive, thereby contributing their quota to the development of the state.
The Managing Director, Rongtai Wood Company, Mr. Huang. expressed happiness over the partnership with the Edo State Government to reposition its Wood Industry.
