
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, during a routine patrol along the Kaduna-Zaria expressway on Saturday, intercepted a commercial vehicle conveying nine hundred and forty-two explosives hidden in a sack from Nasarawa heading to Zamfara State.
A statement by the agency’s spokesman, Femi Babafemi, on Sunday also disclosed the arrest of a 30-year-old suspect over the discovery.
Furthermore, the statement disclosed the seizure of illicit drugs valued at over three point four billion naira in Lagos and Port Harcourt.
Operatives at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, intercepted forty-two parcels of Canadian Loud, a potent cannabis strain, concealed in food tins aboard a British Airways flight from Canada.
In a separate incident at the Lagos airport on May 2nd, Babafemi said a businessman, Bobby Morris Osa, was arrested while attempting to travel to Italy with over eight thousand pills of tramadol.
