The University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) has so far admitted eighteen patients and recorded about four deaths from the dreaded diphtheria disease.
Joy Obarisiagbon, who went on a fact-finding mission on rumors, reports that UBTH no longer has beds to admit patients, as the Deputy Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee, Dr. Esohe Ogboghodo, disclosed that just this Friday, the 20th of June 2025, over five hundred patients suffering from different ailments were rushed to the hospital.
