The Management of Igbinedion Education Centre says it’s aware of a video currently circulating online showing an ugly incident of bullying and physical assault involving students of the school.
In a statement jointly signed by the Management of the various schools of the Centre, frowned at the behaviour of the students in the video, describing it as deeply disturbing and that it stands in direct violation of the values and standards of the school.
The statement adds that Igbinedion Education Centre has a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, cultism, intimidation, harassment, and any form of violence.
It said following an investigation, the students responsible for the ugly behavior have been expelled from the school with immediate effect as such conduct will not be tolerated within the school community.
The Management of Igbinedion Education Centre assured parents and the general public of its commitment to maintain the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of every student and disclosed that the school is providing support for those affected and are working closely with their families to ensure the matter is addressed with the seriousness it deserves.
In the statement, the Management of Igbinedion Education Centre said the incident has been reported to the appropriate authorities and, knowing that the students are minors, the school is cooperating fully.
It also uses this medium to thank all parents and guardians for their cooperation and for standing with the school in this time.
