The Enogie of Utekon, Community Ovia North East Local Government Area, Edo State, His Royal Highness, Eguagie Omoruyi Imasuen has expressed gratitude to His Royal Majesty, Ewuare the Second, Oba of Benin, for his love and magnanimity. He said, he is grateful to the oba of Benin for his pardon, gesture and for the recent reinstatement as the Enogie of Utekon after ten years of suspension.
Enogie Imasuen in a statement pledged his loyalty to his royal majesty Ewuare the second Oba of Benin and commended his developmental strides and promotion of peace in Benin. He also thanked his subjects, Utekon Community elders and youths and neighboring communities of Iyowa, Uniaro, Ozoguo, Iguosula, Azalama, Oluku, Okhunmwun, Iguosa and Idumwunowina for their support.
As part of plans to ensure the development of Utekon community, the Enogie of Utekon said there will be traditional rites to cleanse the land of Utekon community according to Benin tradition. He said all developers engaged in buildings in Utekon community land especially in the boundary area should please stop work for now, until the traditional rites to cleanse the community land is completed according to Benin tradition.
According to the statement, for the avoidance of doubt, building construction work will commence immediately at the end of the traditional rites. He appealed for cooperation during the traditional exercise as it will bring development and blessings of the ancestors to Utekon community.
