Elders, youths and indigenes of Ugbineh Community in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State have said that the lands in the community are not for sale.

This is contained in a statement by the Legal Practitioner representing Ugbineh community, B. A. Iluobe, Esquire, on behalf of the community.

The statement said the community has been taken over by persons who do not have the power and authority to transfer community land alone.

It said that Pa. Jackson Osayande Usiobaifo who was the Odionwere has passed since the 5th day of January, 2026 while on the sixteenth of January, the Palace reaffirmed DOMINIC EDOBOR as the legitimate and the only recognised Okaighele of Ugbineh Community.

The Palace further directed that for the time being, before the installation of another Odionwere, the second in Command PA. OSAYE ERIAMIARTOR, the Ohen, Okaighele and Elders of Ugbineh Community will continue to oversee the activities of Ugbineh Community.

It advised individuals, corporate bodies and others transacting land-related businesses without the consent and approval of all of the principal parties will be doing so at their own peril.
