Goals from Moses Simon and Akor Adams secured a 2-1 win for the Super Eagles, in an international friendly game with Iran in Antalya, Turkey.
It is now two wins and one draw in three meetings against Iran for the Super Eagles.
After an evenly balanced early exchange, the Super Eagles took the lead on six minutes as Simon raced onto Samuel Chukwueze’s pass, beat his marker by cutting inside before hitting a low shot past the keeper.
The Super Eagles added to their advantage in the 51st minute as Akor Adams connected to Lookman’s defense-splitting pass and slotted past the keeper.
Iran then pulled one back on 67 minutes, as Taremi reacted quickest to fire the ball home after the initial effort hit the crossbar.
Up next for the Super Eagles is a second friendly game against Jordan on Tuesday, March 31, also in Antalya.
Nigeria’s D’Tigress will face WNBA side Indiana Fever in an international exhibition game on Saturday, 2 May 2026.
The encounter will serve as part of the team’s preparations for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup.
According to the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF, the high-profile encounter is aimed at strengthening the team’s competitiveness on the international stage while providing players with exposure against top-level opposition.
