The Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Deputy Governor, Right Honourable Dennis Idahosa and his family on the passing of his beloved mother, Mrs. Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa, who died on April 8, 2026, at the age of 95.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr Patrick Ebojele, the Governor described her passing as a deeply painful loss, noting that the death of a mother, regardless of age, leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of her loved ones.
Gov. Okpebholo acknowledged the remarkable life she lived, marked by love, sacrifice, and devotion to family, adding that her legacy will continue to inspire all who knew her.
He prayed that Almighty God grants the Deputy Governor and the entire Idahosa family the strength, courage, and fortitude to bear this great loss, while also praying for the peaceful repose of her soul.
The Governor reaffirmed that the thoughts and prayers of the Government and the good people of Edo State are with the Deputy Governor and his family during this period of mourning.
