Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has urged the church and citizens to remain steadfast in prayer as he resumes governance following the end of a six-month state of emergency.
Speaking during a thanksgiving service at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Opobo Town, his first public appearance since resumption, Governor Fubara emphasized the role of divine intervention in sustaining his leadership journey. Describing the visit as personal, he expressed deep gratitude to God for His faithfulness to his family, the state, and Nigeria.
He credited the continuous prayers of the people—especially those from his hometown—as instrumental to his success, likening them to spiritual investments yielding results in due time.
The Governor highlighted peace as a cornerstone of development, aligning his remarks with the observance of the International Day of Peace.
The church service included special prayers for the First Family and the state, led by Venerable Emmanuel Nwuju, and was attended by key stakeholders, including his wife, top government officials, and local dignitaries.
