Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has vowed to stand firm against election rigging and bad governance amid growing efforts by the opposition coalition to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027 general elections.
In a statement shared on his verified X handle on Saturday, Atiku said he made the declaration while receiving a delegation of Gombe State stakeholders led by former Minister and Senator, Idris Abdullahi.
The Gombe stakeholders had visited the former vice president to pledge their loyalty to the African Democratic Congress, which the coalition recently adopted as its campaign vehicle to mount opposition against the All Progressives Congress ahead of the next general elections.
Addressing the gathering, Atiku expressed concern over what he described as worsening governance in the country, stressing that Nigerians deserve better leadership that will prioritise their welfare.
He pledged that the coalition leaders under the ADC would continue to work assiduously to deliver positive change that will transform the lives of Nigerians.
