Retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG Parry Osayande, is dead.
He passed away in the early hours of Sunday, September 28, just a day before his 89th birthday.
The sad news was confirmed off-camera by his son, Osato Osayande, to ITV’s Pius Nsogho at the family residence in GRA, Benin City.
DIG Parry Osayande had a long and distinguished career in the Nigeria Police Force, serving in key positions across the country.
He was Commissioner of Police in Benue, Cross River, and the former Bendel State, before rising to the position of Deputy Inspector General.
Following his retirement, he remained active in national service, notably serving as Chairman of the Police Service Commission between 2008 and 2013, where he contributed to police reforms and public affairs.
