Some former APC candidates from the 2023 Local Government Council election have appealed to the State Working Committee of the party to consider them as flag bearers for the upcoming July 2026 Local Government Council election.
In a related development, the party announced the suspension of the Chairman of the Edo State Forestry Commission, Hon. Valentine Asuen, also known as DVD. This followed allegations involving the state party secretary, Engr. Lawrence Okah, over uneven distribution of positions in Oredo Local Government Area.
