A former member of Edo State House of Assembly, who represented Igueben, Ephraim Aluebhosele has congratulated Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo on the affirmation by the Supreme Court as winner of the September 2024 gubernatorial election.
Ephraim Aluebhosele, in a congratulatory message described the Supreme Court verdict as the triumph of democracy, confirming the will of the people, who spoke through their vote.
He said the affirmation by the apex court goes to confirm the will and wishes of the overwhelming majority of the people of Edo State and shows that the election was transparent, free and fair.
The former Edo State legislator noted that the declaration by the Supreme Court in favour of Senator Okpebholo as the legitimately and constitutionally elected governor of Edo State has proven that elections are won at the ballot and by people who have identified with the grassroots.
Ephraim Aluebhosele said the judgement has again reaffirmed the fact that democracy is at play and the people of Edo State have embraced the All Progressives Congress and popularly elected their preferred choice of Senator Okpebholo as their governor.
According to him, the milestone affirms Governor Okpebholo’s mandate and paves the way for him to continue delivering exceptional service to the good people of Edo State, having done well in the past seven months and expressed the believe that he will do excellently well in his four-year tenure.
While looking forward to a robust working relationship with the Governor, the former legislator prayed God to grant him the wherewithal to take Edo State to higher height.
