The general public, particularly potential land buyers/developers, have been warned that all that large expanse of land measuring two hundred and seventeen point five-six-five hectares, approximately six thousand plots, at Umegbe Community, Iyekogba, Ward 2, Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State, belongs to the Enogie, Dr. Osayemwenre A. Osagie, Elders and the Community.
A statement by H.E. EGBO of H.E. EGBO & CO., LEGAL PRACTITIONERS & PROPERTY CONSULTANTS in Benin City says the Property belongs to the Enogie and Community by the judgment of the Edo State High Court, in Suit No. B/364/2014, between Prince Francis Iyahen, suing for himself as Administrator and on behalf of the grandchildren of Princess Ighiwiyisi Eweka Estate and Enogie of Umegbe, His Royal Highness, Dr Osayemwenre A. Osagie & 20 others, presided over by Hon. Justice N.A. Imoukhuede, in which said suit, judgment was delivered on Thursday, the 30th day of June, 2022, in favour of the Enogie and Elders of Umegbe Community.
The Statement adds that by the judgment, the law firm of H.E. EGBO & CO, legal counsel and solicitors to the Enogie and people of Umegbe Community, strongly warn against engaging in any transaction in respect of the said land with anybody or group especially land speculators who are out to defraud unsuspecting Property Traders of their hard earned money, except with the said Enogie and Elders of Umegbe Community.
According to the Statement anyone who purports to purchase any part or portion of the said land from anyone or group in defiance of this publication/Notice, does so at his/her own risk with strong legal consequences, including contempt of court, civil damages, or charges of criminal trespass.
