Elders in Council of Okokhuo Community in Ovia North East Local Government Area, Edo State, led by the Ozukpogieva (Acting Odionwere) have described a recent media publication purportedly issued by Mr. Adams Onaiwu Paul, Pa. Pius Odigie and Adams Emmanuel, who described themselves as elders in council of Okokhuo as not only false but mischievous and an attempt to create confusion and disorder in Okokhuo Community.
A statement jointly signed by the Acting Odionwere, Pa. Paul Usemwinhiakhin Ekhator, Acting Treasurer, Mr. J. B. Ekhator, Honourable Monday Enihoro (JP), Honourable Joseph Ekhator and Acting Secretary, Mr. Osazemwinde A. Stanley says Adams Onaiwu Paul is not a native of Okokhuo Community either by birth or privilege but was imported by some miscreants to create confusion, breakdown of law and order.
The Statement said an Okada Customary Court had in its ruling in two cases affirmed Pa. Paul Usemwinhiakhin Ekhator as the Acting Odionwere, Ozukpogieva of Okokhuo Community.
It advised the general public to disregard the said publication credited to Mr. Adams Onaiwu Paul as it is a nullity and amounts to contempt of court.
The elders in council of Okokhuo Community led by Pa. Paul Usemwinhiakhin Ekhator clarified that the Oba of Benin’s land in the community remains intact.
The statement concludes that anyone willing to transact business with Okokhuo Community should do so with the authentic leadership of Pa. Paul Usemwinhiakhin Ekhator, as anything done with any other group is at their own risk.
