Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC) today flagged off the training of ad hoc staff for the 2025 Local Government by-election scheduled for the twentieth of this month.
Chairman of the Commission, Sir Jonathan Aifuobhokhan, who was represented by the Commissioner in Charge of ICT and Training, Dr Suleman Ovuehor Ikhuoria, declaring the programme open, acknowledged that the work of the ad hoc staff is strategic to EDSIEC’s avid commitment to conduct of free, fair, and credible by-election; hence the crucial need to acquaint them with the workings of the electoral process, code of conduct, and other extant laws to guarantee optimal performance.
