The Edo State Independent Electoral Commission, EDSIEC, has announced dates for programmes lined up for the local election in the state scheduled for Saturday, the eleventh of July, 2026.

A statement by the Chairman, Edo State Independent Electoral Commission, Sir Jonathan Aifuobhokhan, says the exercise is in pursuance of Section twenty-eight of the Electoral Act 2022, Edo State Local Government Electoral Law 2012, and EDSIEC’s Establishment Law 2022, where the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission is empowered to issue notice of election.
